Fredrikstad FK was on the verge of securing a spot in the Eliteserien qualification against KFUM Oslo. But they lost on penalties after a thrilling match. Bilal Njie scored his second goal of the evening in the second extra time period, tying the game 3-3. Fredrikstad FK fought back into the game after a weak first half. After coach Bjørn Johansen's three substitutions at halftime, they also scored a reducing goal through captain Henrik Kjelsrud Johansen early in the second half. With just three minutes left of regular time, the same man made it 2-2. The experienced striker ensured more FFK football in 2021 with a beautiful lob over the opponent's goalkeeper Jonas Vatne Brauti. One of Johansen's substitutes, Adnan Hadzic, made the pass before the equalizer. Underdog KFUM, who secured a spot in the Eliteserien qualification by winning 4-1 against Jerv in the last round, would still strike back. The first half went almost exactly as the Oslo team had dreamed. An Alagie Sanyang goal between the legs of Fredrikstad goalkeeper Håvar Jenssen made it 2-0 just before the teams went to halftime. Both teams also received a red card each in extra time. Tore André Sørås from the Oslo team received two yellow cards and had to leave the field first, before Ayoub Aleesami suffered the same fate for FFK. KFUM Oslo and Njie followed up by scoring on all their penalties, while former KFUM player Olav Øby shot into the crossbar for Fredrikstad. Johannes Nuñez scored the decisive fifth penalty for «Kåffa». Maikel Nieves scored the 3-2 goal after both teams had appeared quite cautious in extra time. The finish from the former Kongsvinger player was however of the decisive kind. Fredrikstad FK's hope of promotion is now out, and the team must look for a new opportunity to reach the Eliteserien. KFUM Oslo, on the other hand, can look forward to a new match in the qualification.
