Fredrikstad FK and Andreas Hagen are done as head coach after nearly four years. The Østfold club confirms Hagen's departure in their media channels two days after the team beat HamKam 2-1 in Eliteserien. Andreas Hagen took over FFK in the summer of 2024, when Mikkjal Thomassen left for Swedish AIK. He led Fredrikstad to Norwegian Cup gold that same season and 6th place in Eliteserien. Football director Joacim Heier in FFK says that Hagen has been a central contributor to the club's achievements. Hagen himself says that it has been fantastic to be a part of FFK for the last nearly four years. He thanks the players and the coaching team who have been there every day, and the supporters who have supported them until what has been an enormous time for FFK. Last year, they finished 8th in Eliteserien after a variable season. However, 2026 has started heavier for FFK, who are in 10th place with ten points from nine games. Hagen was assistant coach in FFK for one and a half seasons before taking over as head coach. Fredrikstad states that the work of hiring a new head coach is already underway. The ambition is to present a new head coach and complement the coaching team within a short time. Hagen says that the promotion in 23, the cup gold in 24, and the European Cup adventure in 25 are memories he will have with him for the rest of his life.
