Fredrikstad FK created enough chances for their new coach to have a dream debut. The match against Sandefjord ended 1-1 after a keeper's mistake, missed chances, and an overtime goal. Fredrikstad replaced their former head coach Andreas Hagen with Danish Casper Røjkjær, who has brought in former Mjøndalen coach Kevin Nicol as an assistant. 33-year-old Røjkjær comes from a job as an assistant coach in Danish Nordsjælland. Fredrikstad is his first job as a head coach at the senior level. In the first match under the 32-year-old Dane's leadership, FFK produced chance after chance, but the draw was worse. Sandefjord also had some very good opportunities, but the teams went scoreless until the break. FFK goalkeeper Martin Børsheim prevented several opportunities in the first half with some great saves, but the goalkeeper lost his concentration after a drizzly time when a heading from Nikolaj Möller slipped between his hands. The U21 national team goalkeeper extended his contract with FFK on Friday. Fredrikstad got another good chance to score shortly after the home team's opening goal, but Henrik Skogvold hit the inside of the post. Both teams continued to produce chances, but the draw and equalizer came first early in overtime, when Benjamin Faraas scored 1-1 when he finished alone with the keeper. It secured points for Fredrikstad. The next chance for Røjkjær and Fredrikstad to win comes at home against Start on Friday. Sandefjord will face a tough match the next day away against Molde.
