Fredrikstad FK have sacked head coach Andreas Hagen after the loss to Sarpsborg. The team has lost four of their last five games, including against arch-rivals Sarpsborg. Hagen stated that he felt the pressure after the losses. - Everyone feels the pressure when you lose four games in a row in Eliteserien. I put that pressure on myself, Hagen told TV 2. Who will take over Fredrikstad is currently unknown. According to the club, work is already underway to appoint a new head coach. - It has been fantastic to be a part of FFK for the past almost four years. I will thank the players and coaching staff who have stood by every day, and the supporters who have supported us until it has been an enormous time for FFK, Hagen said on the club's website. Football director in Fredrikstad Joacim Heier said that Hagen can look back on a very memorable period, but: - So comes a time for everything, and now we think it's right to move on to the next chapter, Heier said on FFK's website. Hagen took over FFK in the summer of 2024, when Mikkjal Thomassen left for Swedish AIK. He led Fredrikstad to the Norwegian Cup title the same season and 6th place in Eliteserien. Last season, it was 8th place in Eliteserien after a variable season. 2026 has started tough for FFK, which is currently 10th with 10 points from 9 games. Hagen was assistant coach in FFK for half a season before taking over as head coach.
